The Scottish Rite is one of three branches of Freemasonry in which a Master Mason may proceed after he has completed the three degrees of Symbolic Masonry, better known as "The Blue Lodge." The Scottish Rite confers twenty-nine degrees, usually in dramatic allegory, from the 4th to 32nd, at what are called "Reunions." It also confers a 33rd Degree once every two years at its Annual Conference, which is an honorary degree, given for exemplary work at a Scottish Rite or in your community. This degree cannot be applied for.
