When air escapes the home, your energy usage can skyrocket. Heating and cooling costs increase as your systems work rapidly to keep up with the hot or cold air that's coming or going. Gaps, holes, and crevices are most often found in walls, ceilings, and floors or around windows, outlets, doorways, and ductwork. Warm air rises and escapes through the cracks in the ceiling or attic while cold air flows through baseboards, crawlspaces, and outlets. Finding and sealing these leaks can increase the efficiency of your HVAC system and existing insulation.

Insulation is essential for stopping heat from entering and leaving your home as well as impeding it from flowing to unwanted areas. In a well-insulated home, a comfortable temperature is easily maintained year round and your energy bills are reasonable. However, most people don't realize that their home is inadequately insulated or missing insulation altogether. All About Energy Solutions can help you keep heat out in the summer and keep it inside during winter with blown insulation made of loose-fill material that's sprayed with a blower.

We're not your average insulation contractor. At All About Energy Solutions, our team goes above and beyond to educate our customers about improvements to the home that could result in hundreds of dollars in savings on energy bills. We never recommend or perform services that don't positively impact your energy usage. In fact, we pride ourselves on finding creative ways to reduce your costs. Our services start with a free in-home energy audit. Our trained technicians help you understand how your home can operate more efficiently, from the crawlspace to the attic, without the pressure of purchasing our services.

Do you smell a musty scent in your home? Does your family have allergy symptoms? Have you had a dishwasher, water heater or ice machine break and leak, have you been in a flood? Odds are you have mold in your home. Be safe! If you think you have mold in your home give us a call today (910) 253-0170. Mold spores are everywhere especially in our coastal Eastern Carolina climate. They're microscopic and float in the air into your home through an open window or door. They get in by sticking to your clothes or even on your dog.

In the attic, there should be continuous airflow all year-round to help reduce heat and moisture build-up. When there's improper ventilation, it can result in moisture build-up, higher energy costs, and a deterioration of your roofing system. In the wintertime, warm moist air from heating, cooking, showering, etc. rises up to the attic. If there's improper ventilation, that moist air gets trapped in the attic. This will dampen the attic and insulation and create the perfect conditions for mold growth, rotten wood, and wet insulation.

Did you know that 50 to 60% of the air you breathe in your home comes from your crawlspace? Did you also know that crawlspaces are a source of energy loss? That's why it's important to keep up with your crawlspace. The best way to reduce your energy costs and improve the air quality in your home is to insulate and seal the crawl space. Many don't think of their crawlspaces being a source of energy loss but undoubtedly, warm and cool air can escape through your home's floor, into the crawlspace, and eventually outside.

Reflective radiant insulation, or a radiant barrier, is made out of double-sided reflective material and is installed in the attic over the rafters. Radiant barriers are installed in homes to reduce summer heat gain, helping you save 25% or more on your cooling costs in the warmest seasons. That's because radiant barriers reflect as much as 97 percent of the sun's heat away from your home. In the cooler months, the radiant barrier helps reflect heat back into your house for a more comfortable environment.

Soooo amazing! As we finished one of the hardest crawlspaces I have ever done last week, I mentioned to the owner that played piano that I always wanted to learn. This showed up at the office today!

This is a good looking attic! Remember, insulation doesn't stop heat, it slows it down. Our reflective foil radiant barrier keeps the heat out of your home in the summer and reflects the heat back into your home in the winter. When is the last time you've had your attic inspected?
