The TIG Business was started in 1989 by Mr. Russell Manser under the name Thompson IG Corporation. The business initially catered to residential window and door companies out of a leased 10,000 square foot facility in Fenton, MI.
Thompson I.G. (TIG) is a glass fabricator that specializes in producing IGUs and a variety of other glass products for the commercial, residential, automotive, and specialty markets. TIG uses the latest glass fabrication technologies available combined with over 150 different types of glass to produce customized windows for its customers. TIG is a one-stop glass shop that is able to prepare (cut, wash, edge, machine, etc.) glass, temper/heat strengthen glass, laminate glass, digitally print on glass, apply ceramic frit to glass and fabricate IGUs.
Thompson I.G. specializes in producing insulating glass products and offers a wide spectrum of insulated glass units produced with the latest sealing and warm-edge technology on our vertical insulating glass production lines. We can meet most design or performance requirements for commercial building architectural glass, residential buildings, recreational vehicles (RV), commercial and mass transit. TIG has a metal spacer insulating glass line that has real-time production control. The line can make IGUs up to 78" x 140", has dual-seal polysulfide and silicone, and capability to use argon gas.
