No one wants to deal with hot, uncomfortable rooms in their home, which is why air conditioners are among the most popular home upgrades. However, every home is different, and the air conditioning system that provides the best solution for one home may not be the right choice for another. At Green Home Logic, we provide a variety of air conditioning systems to help you get the comfort and efficiency you want in your home.
Cellulose is "green." It's made of 80% post-consumer recycled newsprint. The fiber is chemically treated with non-toxic borate compounds (20% by weight) to resist fire, insects and mold. The Cellulose Insulation Manufacturers Association (CIMA) claims that insulating a 1500 ft2 house with cellulose will recycle as much newspaper as an individual will consume in 40 years. Like many insulation materials, it provides an R-value of approximately R-3.5 per inch of thickness. But, air leakage through cracks, voids, and gaps is important, responsible for approximately one-third of an average home's heat loss.
Fiberglass Unbonded Loose-fill insulation is an alternative to roll or batt insulation in attics, new construction or retrot applications. We install the insulation by fluffing it along the length of the hose, adding millions of the tiny air pockets that give the material its insulating power. Blown in cellulose is a highly effective, environmentally friendly insulation solution. Made from recycled newspaper and treated with borate for fire retardant, the even distribution of blown in cellulose insulation makes for a high performance insulation that has come into increasing favor among green builders and building energy efficiency experts.
