Old Window Workshop Cooperative (OWWC), is a women worker-owned cooperative based in Springfield's South End. OWWC provides employment and business ownership opportunity for women struggling with poverty.
OLD WINDOW WORKSHOPS ARE WOMEN-OWNED, WORKER-OWNED BUSINESSES located in low-income urban neighborhoods, open to all low-income women who want to work cooperatively and creatively with other women to improve our economic opportunities and take action to make our neighborhoods safer, healthier and more beautiful places to live. Old Window Workshops are located in high-poverty neighborhoods because that is where so many women are faced with a dearth of options to improve their lives. Women head more than 60% of the households in high poverty neighborhoods where more than 40% of families with children live at risk of hunger and homelessness.
Historic windows can tell a story. Beautifully restored, they are ready to become a part of your home, office or commercial space. When you purchase one of our windows, up-cycled products or reclaimed hardware, you are empowering women to create a better future.
Please VOTE. And please sign this petition. It'll only take a minute. Even I did it.
We can't be waisting organic material by burning it instead of creating jobs with it. Resist biomass as "non-carbon emitting!"
Joe Connelly is a respected leader in the reuse industry. I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to him and ask if you'd be interested in working with me to offer a conference with Joe to help us look at the opportunities that REUSE can have for the greater Springfield area.Send an email...
