Windows can be one of the most vulnerable points of a building when it comes to security considerations. Concerns about theft or ballistic attack often lead owners to search for bullet proof window solutions to protect their employees as well as their assets. In reality, "bullet proof" windows is the incorrect term for these types of products. No material, no matter how high its security level or how thick it is, can ever be truly bulletproof. We refer to these windows as "bullet resistant", because while they will protect from ballistic threats, they cannot guard completely against relentless ballistic attack.

Since doors are one of the most vulnerable areas of a building when it comes to security, we often opt to install "bulletproof" doors for added protection against theft or ballistic attack. While the term "bullet proof" is a common way to describe these types of doors, it is used incorrectly. Though doors can be designed to offer increasing levels of ballistic protection, no material can be completely bullet proof. Over time, any material used will succumb to repeated attack by bullets. Instead, we refer to these products as "bullet resistant" doors.

The phrase "bullet proof glass" is commonly used to describe a material that offers a certain level of resistance against ballistic threats. However, this is a misnomer, since no material can completely protect against all types of bullets. No matter how well-designed the material is, or how high its protection level, the glass will eventually give way to a persistent ballistic attack. In reality, bulletproof glass does not exist, and it's not always made of glass. Most bullet-resistant glass products are actually made of polycarbonate, acrylic, or glass-clad polycarbonate.
