While J&R Wood Products may be a small business, we use a state of the art computer program to bring your ideas to reality. Starting with a hand sketch of what the finished product will look like, we then take measurements of the area and start laying out the cabinetry in our computer program. Our powerful program generates a 3D rendering of the finished product. For example, if we are designing cabinets for a new kitchen, the customer is able to choose from thousands of wood grains and finishes, counter top materials, flooring, and appliances to complete the picture.
J&R wants to raise the bar for others in the woodworking business. Our commitment to quality is evident in the materials we use and the methods we follow when building all custom pieces. Here's examples of some of the practices we follow to ensure better craftsmanship of all our projects. Solid wood frames are sanded on all four sides and then both glued and screwed together. Doors and drawer fronts are sprayed flat to allow for better coating of the lacquer and sanded in between each coat for a smoother finish.
J&R Wood Products is licensed for business in the state of Washington. We have done work for people living in Oregon as the construction still takes place in our shop and we can deliver to homes in Oregon. In these special cases, we do hire workers from Oregon for the installation of your pieces. This is the only circumstance where we hire someone else to do the installation work. It is a common misconception that having any sort of cabinetry or built-ins "custom made" will cost you more money than buying similar cabinets at one of the "big box" stores.
