Edward Archibald MacLean started EA MacLean & Sons in 1920. His sons Mervil and Arthur later joined him. In the early years, the company produced a wide range of wood products including boats, windows and sashes, custom millwork, and kitchen cabinets. As the "High Tech" industry evolved in the valley, the production emphasis switched to the commercial cabinetry. IBM Corporation became a major client and MacLean's provided custom workbenches, clean room furniture, break room cabinetry, storage solutions, reception desks, office furniture and much more.
