We started our woodworking journey 35 years ago as Adventures in Wood as a salute to beautiful planet Earth, its trees and the joy we have always felt for the out of doors. We still look back with fond memories of our years hiking, skiing and camping in California and the western United States. We like to think that today we still honor that connection, as respectful woodworkers. That love of trees -the renewable kind -- lives on in the furniture we build today. We renamed our company Sonoma Woodcraft in 2006 about the time friends ask us to build them a Murphy bed.

We have the benefit of a background in both the worlds of high-end kitchen cabinetry and that of furniture making. It's this blend of these disciplines that give us a unique understanding and approach to the building of wall beds. And, we use furniture-grade plywoods and sustainably-grown hardwoods. We like clear naturally finished woods, particularly maple, oak, alder, cherry and bamboo. But, we are open to stain preferences you may have and painted pieces as well. We can "match" any stain or color you like or at least come remarkably close.

Home offices, multi-purpose rooms and media entertainment rooms are a must in many 21st century homes. Desks with file cabinets, multiple drawers, hutches, even hanging cabinets with downcasting LED lights are all possible. Want to hide your flat screen TV in a cabinet?
