In 1992, we recognized the strong demand that existed for a professional service to clean, repair and restore tile and grout floors and showers. The work, at that time, was being done primarily by handymen and amateurs. There needed to be a professional who could analyze the condition of grout and tile and then determine which service, repair and products were needed to professionally restore them to their original condition. Thus, the Groutsmith was born. Our Founder, Jonathan Smith, is The Groutsmith.

Vacuum or dust the floor to remove hair and loose debris. Mix 1 ounce of our Gold pH neutral cleaner with each gallon of warm water in a bucket. Mop a small section of the floor with a damp microfiber mop. When you see an accumulation of dirt on the mop surface, rinse the mop head in a separate bucket of water or under the faucet in a laundry basin or sink, until the mop head is clean before placing the mop back into the clean solution bucket.

Floor tile and grout is cleaned with our proprietary professional products to restore them to a like new condition. The clean grout can then be restored with clear sealer or our exclusive color restoration sealer. Cracked and damaged floor tile and grout are repaired or replaced. Joints and angles that are designed to allow expansion and contraction are repaired with acrylic grouts to allow flexibility for movement without cracking. Floor tile re-bonding is a repair procedure that re-secures loose tile to the subfloor.
