Terry Picklo founded Country Builders, Inc., a custom home builder, in 1981 after managing a lucrative lawn and garden management company. He built a few speculative custom homes for the first two years, before deciding the custom home market was where he wanted to be. Terry's son Nick, who grew up working with the various trades, joined the company full time in the late 90s. Due to the company's growth into new areas, in an effort to reach the broader custom home building and remodeling market, as well as to provide more robust services to customers, Country Builders Inc. decided to rebrand as Picklo Homes.
