The HBA works with government, public, business, and community organizations in seven counties - Bastrop, Burnet Caldwell, Hays, Lee, Travis and Williamson - to advance the practice and professionalism of the home building industry in our community and to ensure that all people in the Greater Austin area live in strong communities and homes that enable them to thrive.

One of the most important things the HBA does is give back to our community. Through various programs and partnerships with local charities, the HBA has given more than $2,000,000 to local charities. The Benefit Home is the annual construction of a home built mostly - if not entirely - through donations of construction management, materials, supplies, labor and monies of the members of the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin. The majority of net proceeds from the sale of the home on the open market benefit local charities as designated by HBA.

The 2020 Benefit Home will be built by Chesmar Homes in Bryson, the award winning, master planned community by Johnson Development located in Leander, TX. Chesmar Homes is honored to be building their Berkeley plan.
