A typical bathroom remodel will take 6-8 days depending on what is involved. We help with the bathroom design, if needed, and make the whole process as pleasant as we can from start to finish. We know that it is tough having strangers in your home doing any type of work especially for days at a time. This is your bathroom and we want you to be happy when you walk in this room and be proud of the work we have done. When you are in your bathroom shower or tub relaxing it helps to be surrounded by beautiful bathroom tile on your floor and walls and maybe a nice granite countertop on your vanity, but no matter how big or small the job we want to help.
Kitchen remodeling usually takes around 6-8 days depending on the size and what all is involved with the project. We can help with the kitchen design, if needed, and will make the whole process as pleasant as we can from start to finish. Kitchens are a gathering place when you have guests or preparing meals and it is nice to have a kitchen design that not only makes you feel good but helps you stay organized. We can sell you the Kitchen cabinets, countertops, and flooring or we can install what you purchase from someone else.
If you are thinking of having some painting done and you are going to hire a Painter or Painting Contractor then you are at the right spot. Anybody can come into your home, help you pick out colors, tell you that light/flat paints hide flaws but don't wash well, and dark/sheen paints will bring out flaws but will wash well. Talk about the new law in January about using paints with low VOC's (volatile organic chemicals) and that you shouldn't use flat paints over paints with a sheen and all the other things that your local Sherwin Williams store will fill you in on when asked, BUT finding painters that perfectly cut in where the wall meets the ceiling or where the wall meets the trim is hard to find.
Exterior painting needs to be performed every 3 to 5 years, and if the proper prep work is done you should only have to do it every 5. Make sure the surface is clean and remove all the loose paint. A power washer can remove all the dirt and some of the loose paint, but never paint on the same day as power washing unless you are absolutely sure what you are painting is dry. Scraping and an orbital sander can remove what is left. Apply a paint able caulk where needed in cracks and around windows and doors.

We can remove walls, add walls, give you the proper lighting, maybe a flat screen T.V., Jacuzzi tub, Steam shower, Sauna, Bidet, heated tile floors that make your jaw drop, beautiful tile in the shower or running half way up your wall with chair rail tile at the top, granite, quartz, or marble countertop with an elegant vanity, and a paint job that is second to none.
My name is Joe Taulbee and I am the owner of Good Guy Home Improvements LLC. When choosing a contractor make sure they are Accredited Better Business Bureau members, check out their complaint history, if they have a couple complaints it doesn't mean they aren't professional, just make sure they resolved the complaints. Google your contractor's name and see if anybody has posted a review about them. Make sure they provide you with references. Good Guy Home Improvements LLC has a face book page with many customers as friends, which is an excellent way to see not only reviews, but the pictures of the jobs as well.
Drywall Contractors or Drywall Companies like everything else in the home improvement business are in great supply, and are just as easy to beat out competitively because of our quality, customer service, and cleanliness. It takes a lot of practice to get the knack of dry walling down, but if you don't show up on time, do a top quality job in a timely manner, and clean up after yourself your business doesn't grow and you never get called for more work from that customer. I have seen drywall jobs that looked good, but wouldn't last long before the tape would pull away from the wall because there wasn't enough mud behind it, or they didn't tape it at all and within days cracks would form.
Interior painting can last many years if done correctly. Make sure the surface is clean and remove any loose paint. I find it best to plug holes with 20 minute drywall mud found at Lowe's or Home Depot. It comes in a white bag in powder form and you mix it with a little bit of water in a small bucket with a small drywall knife. It only takes 20 minutes to dry and it won't shrink like the small tubes of spackling, allowing you to completely hide the holes or cracks that were once there. Higher sheen paints such as semi-gloss or satin should be used in Kitchens and Bathrooms because they wash well and repel water or steam.
We don't take any money up front. You don't write the first check until your basement is completely framed up. Also if you need financing we offer it through Day Air Credit Union unsecured up to $25,000. 3. We use fire blocking foam on our fire blocking seams even though code doesn't require it. We don't just want to slow the spread of fire, we would rather it get starved from oxygen and go out. 4. All the door casing trim and baseboard trim we use is made of actual wood not MDF, which is just compressed cardboard that will swell up and get destroyed with just a little contact with water.
If you feel that your basement isn't being used optimally, you should consider getting the space remodeled. Basement refinishing and remodeling is a popular trend with modern day homeowners and over the years we have helped transform many little-used basements into entertainment zones, TV rooms, bar spaces, guest bedrooms, kitchens and even home office spaces. When it comes to improving the functionality of your basement the sky is the limit in terms of the options available to you. However, these projects represent a significant investment and you need to hire basement renovation contractors that would be able to provide you solutions that are right in line with your vision for that space.
A typical roof should last 20 to 30 years but many factors come into play for the life span of a roof. You never want to install new shingles over old because it shortens the life span of the new shingles and you don't get to inspect the decking underneath unless you tear off the old. Always use quality materials no matter what you are doing to your home. If your home is in a wooded area you will need to keep it clean from leaves and branches that may fall on it as well as keeping algae and mold from growing on it because these will dramatically shorten the shingles life span.
I (Joe Taulbee) started Good Guy Home Improvements over 11 years ago in April of 2006. There isn't much that I haven't done in that period of time but I have to say finishing basements is my favorite thing to do residentially. Estimates are free so if you are thinking of finishing your basement I would love to hear from you to set up a meeting to discuss your basement. The cost to finish your basement with Good Guy Home Improvements averages $30 a square foot today 6-7-17. So a 1,000 square foot basement will cost around $30,000 to finish.
There is an unlimited amount of absolutely gorgeous bathroom tile to choose from on the market today. Granite, Marble, Travertine, Quartz, Stone, Porcelain, Ceramic etc. If it is bathroom tile that is porous then it needs to be sealed before installation otherwise mortar, grout, or other debris can penetrate into the tile making it very difficult to get clean again. Also non-sanded grout should be used so that the porous tile doesn't get scratched when applying the grout. If something looks like it has penetrated the porous tile then grout remover or sulfamic acid can be used to remove it but you have to be very careful not to mar or etch the tile.
Basements are commonly underutilized spaces, but it is possible to invest some money, creativity and effort into transforming this space into something much more functional and enjoyable. Perfect for kids playrooms, theater rooms, bars, recreation rooms, kitchens, mini kitchens, wine rooms, man caves, craft rooms, workout rooms, meditation rooms, wood shop, laundry, bathroom, bedroom or office. It is only limited by your imagination! We can put recessed canned lighting and sconces on dimmer switches for mood lighting and use sound proofing drywall and insulation to block out or keep noises trapped in.
