Val Allen Smith, III represents the third generation of his family's building business. His grandfather, the original Val Allen Smith, started the Vasco trade name for the boilers he built in the early 1900s, the Vasco Boilers. He then started the V.A. Smith Company in the 1930s, which, subsequently, was family owned and operated for over 85 years, representing traditional family values throughout that time. After Allen graduated from college, he became a partner in condominium conversions in the city of Chicago.
