Tree Top Builders has been safely putting people in the tree houses of their dreams since 2003. Our first project is still standing, in terrific condition and the host tree is doing great. Fast forward to today, Tree Top Builders has built over 100 tree houses; our best-in-class building practices have matured and our construction methods are even safer, better and longer lasting. Years of building has unleashed our creativity - now you can expect a fantastic tree house built of diverse materials and attached with care to the living foundation.

Building a custom tree house is a journey that the tree and you take together. The result is quite remarkable as the structure and tree become one. An inherently creative process; tree house construction is much deeper than any list of steps; its essence cannot be captured in a "how-to" manual. Building a tree house is a dream, an obsession, an escape, a work of art and an emerging science. We like to sum it all up by saying that tree house building represents freedom. Treehouses give us freedom from gravity, freedom from our obsession with industry, and freedom from traditional mundane structures.

Nearly all commercial treehouses and many permitted residential treehouse projects will require a designated P.E. There are 2 options. We can provide a referral to an engineer and architect that we have used. Some of these professionals have licenses nationwide. One of the most famous treehouse engineers out there is Charlie Greenwood and we have installed both his HL and XL series tree fasteners. The costs vary, but can be anything from $1000-3000 for a plan review or up to $8,000 and $20,000 for the full code preparation package for a large project.
