Horizon Residential Energy Services has been improving homes' energy efficiency since 2007. We assist the energy utility companies of New Hampshire as a third-party company that helps customers qualify for energy efficiency programs and Horizon Residential also conducts QA inspections on the weatherization work completed through the weatherization programs. Horizon Residential inspects the work to ensure that it is being completed to program standards, which helps to maintain the programs' integrity and helps the utility companies to continue pursuing the energy efficiency programs for the long term.

Horizon RES NH LLC is a credentialed Quality Assurance contractor for the NH Home Performance w/ ENERGY STAR program and the NH Home Energy Assistance program for several utilities. We have conducted site visits at over 800 older, existing homes to assess and report on the effectiveness and adequacy of the weatherization improvements installed by the credentialed building performance installation contractors who work in these very important and cost effective utility administered programs.

A new home that has earned the ENERGY STAR label is eligible for additional certifications. Utilizing the software modeling, site visit inspections and diagnostic testing of the ENERGY STAR HERS rating, a national certification with superior indoor air quality as its goal is available. The EPA has devised a checklist method to help builders provide an additional level of building excellence that confirms the indoor air quality best practices the builder has installed. A HERS rater will work with an ENERGY STAR certified builder partner and credentialed mechanical contractor (for ducted heating and cooling systems) to facilitate that all Indoor Air Plus requirements are met.
Utility companies throughout New Hampshire offer energy audit and weatherization programs for homeowners in their service area, including home energy audits. A Home Performance with ENERGY STAR residential energy audit is specifically designed for homeowners who are looking for a clear picture of exactly what the causes and solutions are to their home energy performance and comfort problems. Certified Building Performance Institute (BPI) installation contractors will conduct home energy audits to determine what home performance measures would be cost effective to conduct at your home.
