Mountain Cement Company, located two miles south of Laramie, is Wyoming's only producing site of portland cement. The original plant was constructed by Monolith Portland Cement Company in 1927. Mountain Cement Company offers high quality cement for a variety of consumer and industrial uses. Type I-II Portland Cement (non-false setting) - A general purpose cement used in construction of roads, home foundations, sidewalks, etc. Type II is used when moderate sulfate resistance is required. Type V Portland Cement (non-false setting) - A premium cement that can be used in construction of roads, home foundations, sidewalks, etc. Type V is specified when high sulfate resistance is required.
