In most instances, we take the used concrete and asphalt to one of our 9 area recycling centers for processing. This old pavement material is recycled and often used for new roadway, shoulders and embankments.
Cherry accepts and recycles tear-off composition asphalt shingles at three of our five Houston area recycling centers. We also accept used and manufacturer waste shingles. Recycled residential composition shingles are primarily used in hot-mix asphalt for road paving and cold patch materials. Using recycled asphalt shingles in hot-mix can actually improve the pavement's performance by increasing its resistance to wear and moisture and decreasing deformation, thermal fatigue and cracking.
We specialize in processing and selling recycled concrete. Our 9 Houston area recycling centers produce a variety of grades of recycled concrete products and deliver 99.6 percent completely recycled materials. We accept good, clean concrete material for recycling. Cherry also purchases raw concrete that can be processed into different grades of recycled concrete material.
At our 9 Houston area recycling centers we extract thousands of tons of steel rebar from raw concrete. This reclaimed steel is then bundled and shipped to steel mills where it is re-used in manufacturing thousands of new steel products.
