Thermomass insulation systems have changed the world. Or, at least the way the world builds with concrete. Since 1980, Thermomass products have helped clients build durable, energy efficient, aesthetically versatile and environmentally responsible concrete sandwich walls. Founded by Robert T. Long in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Thermomass quickly grew to become the industry leader for concrete sandwich wall insulation products. In November 2020, Thermomass joined with nine other leading construction accessories firms to create Leviat, uniting the expertise, skills and resources of CRH's construction accessories companies in a single global organization.

Thermomass insulation systems can be used for virtually any concrete construction project. From homes to stadiums and tilt-up to precast, Thermomass has an energy efficient solution. Thermomass composite connectors are so low in conductivity that there is virtually no energy transference to or from the outside environment. This translates into less temperature fluctuations inside and less HVAC equipment use while still providing a comfortable office environment. Thermomass insulated concrete buildings can be constructed with a variety of finishes. Colored concrete and textured paints can be combined with reveals for an unlimited array of effects. Cast-in thin brick can authentically reproduce masonry buildings.

First and foremost, the insulation system helps foster optimum animal growth by reducing heat gain or loss inside the confinement environment. Our insulation systems also control temperatures in produce storage buildings where temperature is critical to produce life. Our systems also provide for a more comfortable work environment. Additionally, when the interior concrete is sealed, it meets the USDA guidelines for use in federally inspected food processing establishments. In addition to steady temperatures, since the insulation is continuous and acts as a vapor retarder, the exterior walls are impermeable to water vapor.
