Our quality control team can engineer mix designs for the most demanding projects. In its simplest form, concrete is a mixture of paste and aggregates (sand & rock). The paste, composed of cement and water, coats the surface of the fine (sand) and coarse aggregates (rocks) and binds them together into a rock-like mass known as concrete. Within this process lies the key to a remarkable trait of concrete: it's plastic and can be molded or formed into any shape when newly mixed, strong and durable when hardened.

Mick joined the Sterling Concrete team in 2010 as our Quality Control Manager. He brings quality control expertise gained from some of the most technically challenging concrete projects in the region. Mick started his career as a materials inspector for Professional Services Industries (PSI). He then joined the Boston Central Artery/Ted Williams Tunnel project as a materials inspector, and was promoted to the laboratory supervisor on this project. Mick later joined Concrete Service as a quality control manager.
