Smith Paving Company is a licensed and bonded excavation and asphalt paving contractor built on a solid work reputation in Austin, San Antonio and the entire Central Texas area. Smith Excavating and Paving Inc. was established as a small, family operated business in 1981. It has since grown and was finally incorporated in the State of Texas in 2005. Our principal office is located at 501 Thompson Lane, Austin, Texas 78742. We have professional sealcoating experience throughout the Austin and Central Texas Commercial area. Asphalt sealcoating protects asphalt from deterioration. When asphalt is exposed to the elements, it tends to harden or oxidize. This causes pavement to become more brittle, resulting in cracks due to it's inability to bend and flex when exposed to traffic and temperature changes. Sealcoating combats this by providing a waterproof membrane which not only slows down oxidation but also helps pavement shed water, preventing it from entering the base material.

Asphalt is a strong, flexible surface comprised of sand, tar, rock and bitumen (a sticky, black, and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum). The rock and sand make it strong and long-lasting while the tar and bitumen make it flexible. Asphalt pavement is known for it's durability and resilience.
