West Contracting

West Contracting is a customer-oriented company specializing in asphalt paving and concrete construction. Our two offices offer convenience for our customers throughout the St. Louis area, East Central Missouri, neighboring counties and nearby states such as Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. In addition, we operate four asphalt plants to provide efficient and economical supplies to finish projects throughout the region. When Norman West and his wife Mary started West Contracting in March 1956, they were intimately familiar with the paving industry.

West Contracting started its General Contracting Division to provide a full compliment of services to our clients. We work with Government agencies, public and private companies, and HOA's to bring their plans to reality. The same beliefs that made us successful in asphalt paving are the foundation for our success in larger scale jobs. Our ability to handle these jobs is second to none. We also work with various Municipalities, and public and private developments to bring their plans to reality.

Over the past 65 years, West Contracting has helped individuals, parking lot owners, trustees, utility contractors, municipalities, and MoDOT repair thousands of problematic surface and base failures. Our experienced crews will work with you to provide a work area that will limit disruption to traffic and deliver quality asphalt paving repairs.

Our ability to design our mixes in-house lets us adapt quickly to provide a cost-effective, durable asphalt mixture that meets the most rigorous specifications. Some of the innovations that we have undertaken include the incorporation of Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP), Recycled Asphalt Shingles (RAS), and Warm Mix Asphalt Technology (WMA) in our mix designs. This allows us to keep our costs down, help customers better haul and compact their mixes, and keep unnecessary materials out of our landfills.

Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, with asphalt plants in Sullivan, House Springs, and Pacific, Missouri, we have been a long-time leader in asphalt paving in St. Louis and in asphalt paving in Missouri. We are a licensed and approved applicator of NovaChip. Our state and municipal roadway customers use this ultra-thin layer of asphalt as a surface treatment to resurface existing road surfaces. NovaChip can be used over asphalt or concrete. The surface improves visibility in wet weather, typically improves skid resistance and protects the pavement.
