Quality and integrity are the key words I'd use to describe the experience I had with R Stanley Paving. Everything was clearly and straightforwardly explained in advance. No surprises with estimate vs final cost. Owner was very professional and responsive and was on-site for a good portion of the work which I found impressive. Richard takes pride in his and his team's work and it shows in the results. Lots of attention to detail along with a very neat and tidy site once workers were done. Based on my experience, I would absolutely recommend R Stanley and use them again!

Rich Stanley and his crew were the best! They were prompt, courteous, and professional. We have since had some comments by a few other contractors on what a good job they did. We would highly recommend him.

It went beautifully. We are very happy with the work and highly recommend them. Our friends and neighbors have all admired the fine job done by Richard Stanley and his crew. The only glitch was hearing back to set a date after we had called to say we were going to hire them. Once we got a call back, a date was set and the crew was here that day and on time.

We have a VERY long driveway and it has been gravel (barely) for the decade or so that we've owned the house. Started getting quotes for paving it, and was shocked that they were coming in at $3 per square foot (as a previous reviewer noted). From research, I knew it should be $2/sf, so we kept looking. Saw a beautiful newly-paved driveway nearby. That homeowner put us in touch with Rich Stanley, the third generation owner of this paving company. Rich came in at the right price and with a great can-do attitude. Took almost two full days to complete, but it is a work of great beauty. Smooth, wide, level -- our drive now looks like a gorgeous country lane. It was worth the wait to find the right company. Another reviewer was unhappy that Rich did not honor the 5% advertised discount. 5% of our bill would have been a lot of money, and since he was already giving us such a fair deal I didn't request that. What I did request was a couple of extras... a rounded turnaround instead of square.. a special "parking pad" for the trash cans... and another slight turnaround area to the side. Rich and crew happily accommodated. A+ service. Can't recommend them highly enough.

The job they did was great. Very nice, cleaned up well also. However I have 1 big problem and that is why I have to give them a C overall. After they came to give me an estimate my wife found a 10% off coupon in one of our newspapers. I was quoted $2,600 so I figured we would save $260 when I paid. So when Richard came to my house on May 1st to get payment info I handed him the coupon. He proceeds to tell me that he can not accept it. Now the coupon clearly says valid until 5-29-15. Our driveway was just done April 30th so its not expired. The reason he says is because I am using a credit card and he has to pay fees to accept credit cards. I understand that but nowhere on this coupon does it says only valid for cash or check payments. If it did I would have no argument. Being a former business owner myself I also know in NY it is illegal to impose a surcharge to use a credit card...... This coupon is totally false advertising and I am not happy about it at all. Its a shame because my father down the road was going to be using them and I have 3 co-workers who were waiting to see how my driveway came out before they got theirs done. Now instead of me praising them for the great job they did I have to tell this story of what I feel is VERY poor business practice's. And because of this they have now lost numerous potential customers including myself when I need to seal the driveway.

I had an 18 year old asphalt driveway that needed resurfacing. I started by getting estimates from several paving companies in my area. Most of them wanted to charge $3 per square foot for the resurfacing. According to research that I had done on the Internet, it should not be more than $2 per square foot. I finally decided to use the company that had installed the original driveway. His estimate was $2 per square foot. All of the companies had similar descriptions of exactly how they would do the resurfacing, so I was not concerned about the lower price. Plus they had done an excellent job of installing the original driveway and it had lasted 18 years without any problems. The resurfacing job was very professionally done in one day and I'm very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend R. Stanley Paving company.
