Pooltek can provide you with all of your swimming pool service needs, from Openings, Closings, and Summer Maintenance, to Equipment Installation and Repairs. We also offer reconstruction services, from small patch repairs, to Complete Coping, Tile, and Plaster Renovations. Pooltek was founded in 1986 as a family-owned and operated pool service provider. Our goal is to provide a higher quality of pool maintenance by utilizing only the best-trained technicians, recommending only the most proven reliable equipment, and maintaining the small company attentiveness that clients hope for.

In 1986, Ed and Gail Kessler started Pooltek working out of their family home in Bethesda. Their goal was to create a pool service company that provided a higher quality of personal attention and technical knowledge, setting itself apart from the competitors and the common stereotypes associated with "Pool Guys." As a former aeronautical engineer, Ed's analytical style and attention to detail echoed throughout the small company, and soon more and more homeowners were trusting their multi-thousand dollar investments to Pooltek.

In addition to the annual needs of an Opening and Closing, or the routine visits of Weekly Service, special situations may arise where you require a cleaning service at your pool for a particular situation. Pooltek service crews can handle these specific occurrences in a timely manner to make sure your entire backyard is looking its best. Heading out of town for an extended period and worried your pool might turn green while you're away? No problem. Just give us a call and we can perform a full service visit (or as many as needed) while you're gone.

While our technicians are able to repair and install all brands of equipment, we have found the products listed below to be the most reliable, easy to maintain, and cost-efficient. The Zodiac family of products, including Jandy and Polaris, in particular, we have found to be exceptionally reliable for both operation and manufacturer support. As such, you will see they are our recommendation for pumps, filters, controls, salt generators and automatic cleaners. Also, as a member of the Zodiac Pool Pro Network, we can provide extended warranties on all Jandy, Polaris, and Zodiac products and parts.

Pool equipment is a complex mixture of plumbing, electricity, and gas all in one location, and all with thousands of gallons of water circulating through it each day. So, when it comes to repairs or installation of new equipment, you don't want just anyone working on it. Pooltek technicians are industry-trained and certified through the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP), and further trained and supported by the manufacturers of the products that we recommend. This level of understanding allows us to not only assure you of a proper installation but also allows us to provide extended warranties on many manufacturers' products, as they know they can trust in the quality of work.

Whether it's starting up the pool for the season or closing it down after the kids are back in school, Pooltek is here to answer your Seasonal Service needs. While many pool owners can handle the Summer maintenance of the pool themselves, the crucial tasks of Pool Opening and Closing are best left to professionals. With Pooltek's industry-trained and certified technicians handling this work for you, we can ensure that all equipment is working right for the Summer, and properly protected during the cold Winter months.

Let us handle all the work, and you just enjoy the swimming with Weekly Pool Maintenance. Each service visit includes all cleaning, chemical balancing, and equipment maintenance so your pool is safe and looks great. For those pool owners that can maintain the pool themselves, but like the reassurance of a professional double checking that everything is as it should be, we also offer Tek service, every other week and monthly maintenance. We handle all the technical work, including testing and balancing the pH, Total Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, and Stabilizer levels; Backwashing and monitoring the pool equipment; plus we'll empty the baskets and Polaris bag to ensure proper flow.

Over time, a pool's structure will start to deteriorate due to general aging, aggressive chemicals, or the adverse effects of water and ice intrusion. When this occurs, Pooltek is here to help restore the look of your backyard. From small tile patches to complete renovations of a pool's coping, tile, plaster and deck, our in-house masons can return your pool to a structurally sound, new look. And when it comes to performing construction work, doesn't it make you feel better knowing it's being done by a service company that hopes to be working with you for many years compared to a construction-only company who's going to do the work, and then disappear?

What's new?

Pooltek traveled to the Atlantic City Pool and Spa Show for technical certifications and to learn the latest innovations in the pool industry. A very productive off-season for these hard-working professionals.
