Thames Solar Electric is a family-owned business. Ken started his electrical business in 1981, and after retiring, he took up solar electric in 1996. Ken has used his education in engineering as a Master Electrician and NABCEP certification (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) to design and install solar electric systems. Other family members have joined the company. Virginia, his daughter, does one-line drawings for permits, payroll, and miscellaneous office duties. Donna, Ken's wife, is the disembodied voice on the phone, answering your basic solar questions.
There are many questions that people have about solar and our staff will answer those. We are "putting 37 plus years of experience to solar". On our staff, we have two Master Electricians, both are NABCEP Certified (a requirement of the state of Colorado). Ken has taught solar electric classes since 2005, retiring in 2016. Joe has serviced 2 tours in Iraq doing satellite communications.
