The low monthly rate includes automatic dusk to dawn lighting and maintenance. If a pole or transformer must be added where no existing pole is located in the area the light is needed, an additional cost will be charged for these materials. The monthly fee for Outdoor Lighting Service is added to the electric bill. Some residents in our service area are also eligible for subdivision street lighting through local government services. Contact our representatives or your local government agency to see if street lighting is available in your neighborhood/area.
When you apply for service and pay the $5 membership fee, you become a member of Central Georgia EMC. Electric service connection is provided by the next day on existing accounts (except weekends and holidays). If you apply for service to a location that has never before had electricity, such as a new home or business, we encourage you to apply as far in advance as possible. Applying in advance will ensure adequate preparation time for our engineering and operations departments and help prevent last minute delays.
They are the margins or the money left after expenses, shared by the customer-owners. Capital credits are based on each customer-owners annual energy usage and their contribution to the margin. This allows the Cooperative to better serve your needs for reliable power. The Cooperative's Board of Directors determines when capital credits can be paid to customer-ownersbased on maintaining a sound financial condition and in accordance with the Code of Regulations and board policy.
