Josh and Stacy opened Solution Based Plumbing, Heating and A/C in 2013 with simple core concepts. A strong faith intertwined with great customer service, high quality work, honesty, and accountability create the firm's foundation. Josh Simpson is a Philadelphia Registered Master Plumber, Icc Master Plumber, Nate certified Heating and Cooling Specialist(8 specialties) and nearly 20 year veteran of the mechanical trades. He is originally from Delaware County, PA. His apprenticeship was performed with a mechanical contractor on the Mainline.

One of the most frequent questions we get is how we know whether an air conditioning system needs to be repaired or replaced. Original customer call: Estimate on a generator in a very small backyard in Media, Pennsylvania. The customer wanted us to look into being able to put a 20 2KW generator in a backyard with very limited clearances. As we worked through the process, the township attempted to refuse this application due to a noise ordinance. We worked with the township and the customer in checking the ordinances and found that emergency equipment was exempt thus allowing us to move forward with the project. The project required removal of patio pavers, excavation, installing of the gas line and electrical for the generator, as well as installation of a gas line the customer added for a permanent grill.

A boiler is a hydronic system that uses water or steam to heat your home/building and/or domestic hot water. There are two primary types of boilers: water and steam. Heat pumps are like air conditioners in nature, yet also operate as heating units. When the air conditioner function is used, the unit moves heat from inside the home to the warmer air outside. When the seasonal temperature is cooler, heat pumps gather air from the outdoors and produce heat inside your home, ususally through a forced hot air system. Solution Based prefers installing Trane, Heil and Gibson heat pumps.

Garbage disposals conveniently grind up small food waste where otherwise it would need to be put into a trash can, creating unpleasant odor in your home. When used properly, garbage disposals can last up to 20 years. Solution Based recommends InSinkerator, the first and (in our opinion) best manufacturer in this business.

These service agreements are offered at a fixed price for 10 years, as long as they are renewed yearly. One of the most used plumbing parts of your home, water heaters provide access to hot water for hand washing, bathing, and more. Water heaters typically go unnoticed on a daily basis, yet provide comfort on demand. The Solution Based preference is Bradford White.

Upon inspection of the property it was found that the approximately 100-year-old cesspool had failed and was no longer percolating. We advised the customer it would be necessary to connect to the public sewer. This is another one of these old beautiful homes that we love so much. In fact so old -300 years- that the plumbing is run on the exterior of the building because it was built before indoor plumbing was available. How interesting is that?! This job had quite a bit of administrative difficulty.
