We are surrounded by the amenities of living by bigger cities, and yet we still are able to drive through rural backroads of Florida.
If you have pets or a yard in Florida, chances are you will see a flea in your house at some point. Even though you treat your pets to protect them from fleas, you'll often find they have picked up fleas again, and you must go through the process over and over. You probably treat the animals and do the best you can to also treat the carpet, the blankets and the furniture, but then, in the middle of the night you wake up to find yourself scratching. Ridding your home of fleas by yourself is time consuming and expensive.
We often forget about rodent control until we hear some scratching noises at night. Or maybe we see evidence that a little animal had been in the cupboard, or worse yet, we get a glimpse of something scurrying across the floor. Rodents are the largest family of mammals and there are many types that could invade your home. Rodents cause significant damage to property and can also spread diseases. Diseases from these pests can be transferred directly to humans through bite wounds or consumption of contaminated food, or indirectly through ticks, mites, and fleas that feed on infected rodents.
Cockroaches use the tiniest crack or crevice to get into your home. Attracted to warm, moist environments, cockroaches spend the daylight hours in dark, secluded areas like under the refrigerator, or under your stove, or even in the back of your kitchen cabinet. At night they leave their nests to forage for food and water. Remember, if you see one cockroach in the daytime, you know there are many more you don't see. It is estimated cockroaches have been around for 40 to 50 million years. As scavengers, cockroaches eat anything organic.
