You would think they were building the door for their own home. Rooted in the Appalachian heritage of artisan woodworking, furniture design and production, AppWoodDoors designs and builds custom wood doors that reflect the character and style of your home.

Combining her talent and experience as an architect and his years of timber framing with some of the country's most exclusive builders, Kim and Dennis Woolard founded Appalachian Woodwrights in 1998 to provide custom wood doors for the most discerning of home owners. Their reputation with interior designers and builders for quality and design led to new projects from the Caribbean to the Northeast. Purchased by Alan Clark in 2012 with a slight name abbreviation, the word about "AppWood" spread even further via the internet and social media which led AppWood to ship doors nationwide and internationally.

With request from our clients in 2011, we designed and built several custom tables for their new homes. Since then we continue to offer artisan made tables to fit the design and function desired by our clients. Our solid wood tables are designed and crafted with the same attention to detail and function as our doors. Features we will incorporate into a dining or conference room table may include live edge slabs, custom steel or wrought iron table bases and table legs, classic designs to industrial chic combinations of wood and metal.

While there are ample factory made options available that will function well for many homes, for anyone seeking more in Architectural style or specific design details to their home a factory built door from a catalog will not do. In addition to architectural wood doors we provide historical reproductions or specialty doors. There is no catalog to limit your ideas, let our experienced designers bring your ideas to life, we know you will appreciate our work for generations to come. While solid wood doors are our specialty, we also provide related millwork and custom woodwork for our clients. Custom Woodwork - Our shop is especially laid out for custom woodwork and finishing. Our equipment is designed for accurate milling and machining, not high volume production. Even so, we have developed a process that efficiently produces high quality custom projects that are delivered on time. Wood Species - After years in the business we have sources for most any wood species our client's request.

Because each AppWood door is made to order, you have an opportunity to create a unique design of your own, your own "collection". Provide any inspiration photos, design sketches, moulding profiles, metal accents, or special hardware and our experienced designers will convert your vision and specifications into a unique set of plans. You're not limited by the sizes and designs in a catalog, only by our collaborative creativity. Then we work with you, your designer and builder to ensure that the final product meets your initial vision.

While we have had a limited number of warranty related call backs, AppWood is proud to stand behind our products. Wood doors require special care and handling, it is NOT a maintenance free material but with proper care your wood doors will last for generations. We offer a warranty that stands up to any in the industry, 5 years on our pre-finished doors and 1 year on unfinished doors. Your new door will come with a bottle of Guardsman wood polish to clean and protect your finished door.

While we ship doors nationwide and internationally, we gladly provide our professional installation and on-site maintenance services within our region. Our experienced service technicians can bring troubled doors back to life by adjusting, repairing or replace hardware as needed. We can refinish aged doors as well. Our experienced finishing staff can match colors and finishes as needed.
