Greater Richmond Wolf Trap provides early childhood teachers, caregivers, and parents with innovative arts-based strategies to teach fundamental academic concepts to young children. Wolf Trap professional development workshops for teachers, classroom residencies, and field trip performances for pre-school and kindergarten classes engage children in active learning through music, drama, puppetry and dance to enhance their skills in emergent literacy, problem-solving, group awareness, and even STEM-science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
RPAA is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide diverse local and world-class performing arts, transformative arts education experiences for students of all ages, and inspirational venues - all to strengthen the cultural and economic vitality of the Greater Richmond region. In addition to its comprehensive BrightLights Education Initiatives and wide array of performances and productions, RPAA hosts a range of resident arts companies and other performing arts groups in a collaborative environment while overseeing its family of venues: Altria Theater at Monroe Park and Dominion Energy Center, which houses Carpenter Theatre and Dorothy Pauley Square - home to Rhythm Hall, Showcase Gallery, Libby S. Gottwald Playhouse and Genworth BrightLights Education Center.
