Working in the industry since he was 18, owner/operator Leif Thompson knows the "science" of buildings.
Thanks for visiting our website and giving me an opportunity to tell you about myself and about Nicolet Heating and Cooling. I'm Leif Thompson, and I'm proud to call myself the owner and founder of Nicolet. A journeyman steamfitter by trade, I have been exposed to the heating industry since I was 18 years old. My years in the Steamfitters and Plumbers Union were followed by an apprenticeship with a Green Bay mechanical contractor. In 2002, I became a certified and licensed HVAC contractor and provided service in the Green Bay area.
Boilers heat up a water and then run the heated water throughout a dwelling, spreading radiant heat. Old-time concepts of radiant heat were the standard upright radiators - the spot where we laid our mittens to dry in the winter. Improvements in science and technology have allowed boiler heat to be much more efficient than the old radiators. Today's boilers are an attractive source of heating for residential and commercial environments. Some systems may even incorporate in-floor heating. Not only does in-floor heating keep the dwelling well-heated, it provides the warmth you love for your bare feet.
In a geothermal system, heat exchangers are installed underground as ground loops. The loops connect to a heat pump, and fluid circulating through the loops transfers heat between the earth and the pump. This technology helps homeowners reduce their monthly energy bills while doing their part to save the earth. Did you know that the average earth temperature is 55 degrees Fahrenheit? Did you know that air passed through the earth retains this coolness in the summer and warmth in the winter? At Nicolet Heating and Cooling of Green Bay, Wisconsin, we employ certified Bosch geothermal energy systems installers to help you harness the power of the earth.
