We find solutions to your infrastructure problems and are dedicated to working with you to complete each project successfully. We have learned from decades in the business and have created a process that allows our projects to run as smoothly as possible. Since then, we have been a leader in the industry, expanding from a traditional civil engineering and surveying firm, to one that provides a full complement of in-house consulting services. By tailoring our services to address clients' specific needs, we are able to see projects through from conception to successful completion.
We provide a team who will continually focus on meeting any challenge given. We will work closely with you, delivering excellent service set by our own high standards based on these four values: safety, expedient decisions, proper and timely documentation, and constructing the project the right way. Our Construction Services discipline oversees all construction activities, using a clearly defined method of approach to construction inspection projects. Our project supervisors and inspectors keep close watch on every detail of a construction project: daily inspections, document control, change order management, testing, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), Maintenance of Traffic (MOT), work zone safety, and ensuring contractors stay on task, schedule, and budget.
BLN has one of the most knowledgeable and skilled Environmental Services departments in the country. Recent federal environmental policies have made it necessary for companies to utilize a team with the ability to address complex regulatory requirements. Our team has a thorough understanding of the environmental disciplines with extensive experience in key areas including resource management, agency coordination, and schedule/budget awareness. Our team has the ability to comply with all federal, state, and local regulations to ensure our clients obtain the appropriate approvals and permits to complete any project.
Out of service facilities, surplus properties, and blight pose numerous challenges to both public and private sector entities. When the intended use for a site has reached the end of its useful life, repurposing that ground in a responsible and effective manner is extremely important for public health and safety. BLN has the knowledge and skill to develop and execute programs that safely, efficiently and cost-effectively turn these liabilities into assets. BLN is providing turnkey property acquisition and demolition program management services as needed on behalf of MDOT to clear areas required for construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge.
As infrastructures expand, protecting water resources has been a growing concern for environmental engineers. Starting as a branch of civil engineering, water resources has evolved into an independent, multi-faceted engineering field of its own. Today's environmental engineers must now be knowledgeable in utility financing, environmental regulations, hydrogeology, biology, chemistry, and hydraulics. Our Water Resources Department can guide clients through these complex utility needs that will enable your community to grow in harmony with nature.
