The Dearborn Street widening occured between SR776 and Pine Street, and went from two lanes to four lanes. The roadway project included the relocation of a number of water and sewer lines owned and operated by Englewood Water District (EWD). A joint project agreement between Sarasota County and EWD, stipulated that all utilities relocation work would be bid together with the roadway improvements, but EWD would provide full time Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for the construction associated with the relocation of their lines.
