An early, critical step for any building project is the analysis of subsurface conditions to determine the optimal foundation. In our experience, reports generated by many geotechnical engineering firms present "just the facts" without providing recommendations for cost-effective solutions. Because our own design teams demanded more extensive and informed recommendations, Barry Isett & Associates, Inc. added geotechnical engineering to its scope of services. Isett draws upon a comprehensive understanding of geology, soil mechanics, engineering, and construction to investigate conditions that could impact project cost and building safety.
Isett's structural engineers design the framework for a building's form and functions, utilizing BIM Technology exclusively since 2011. Our design team employs Autodesk Building Design Suite, specifically Revit modeling software. We bring a client's vision to functional reality, using materials that include structural steel, cast -in-place concrete including tilt-up wall panels, masonry, wood and heavy timber as well as gauge metal framing. Analysis of existing structures to determine their adequacy to support new loads being applied to them, as well as the design of structural reinforcing if necessary.
Barry Isett & Associates, Inc. has 20 years of experience providing construction inspections at construction sites to verify that work considered to be critical to life safety and property protection is constructed per the approved plans and specifications. In 2016, we established our own in-house testing lab. Your construction team can rely upon our qualified representatives to provide professional, accurate and easy to read daily field reports, complete with photos and highlighted drawings so there's never a question as to what was done, where and when.
Isett provides a full range of surveying services and has coordinated and integrated various survey types and field data collection methods in order to produce comprehensive mapping products for many large-scale projects. Our base plans are used by architects, developers, and municipalities, as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional clients for planning, site developments, and subdivisions. We can also field up to seven survey crews simultaneously. This type of survey is made to establish or re-establish the outline of a parcel and to locate or set boundary monuments, as required for a variety of legal or development purposes.
Our services include environmental assessments, surveys, and civil land development for residential subdivisions; landscape design; condition assessments to determine the feasibility of repurposing an existing building for residential use; and structural and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering in the design of new residences or adaptive reuse projects.
Projects by Barry Isett & Associates include design and construction phase services for distribution centers exceeding one-million-square feet, as well as improvements and expansions at operating manufacturing facilities. Whether you need a feasibility study to evaluate proposed new construction or additions; improved site access; upgrades to HVAC and fire protection systems; traffic upgrades; structural evaluations; emergency help with a sinkhole, oil spill, or a host of other services; we offer a single source for your engineering needs.
