LAN Associates is one of the most dynamic full-service architectural and engineering firms in the Metropolitan area. LAN has been providing its clients with superior professional services for more than fifty years. We employ over eighty architects, engineers, design professionals, field observers, and administrative staff. LAN is responsible for over $200 million worth of construction per year for educational, hospitality, healthcare, federal, municipal, industrial, ecclesiastical, and private clients.

Our Mechanical Engineering Department provides a broad range of mechanical, HVAC and plumbing design services from initial study and concept to project closeout. We focus on increased energy efficiency in all of our designs. The variety of facilities that we have worked with include educational, industrial, commercial (office), government, low- and high-rise residential, housing authorities, and computer, institutional and health care facilities. Our approach is based on life-cycle cost analysis, enhanced energy savings, efficiency of selected systems, and sustainable design.

Our Architecture Department consists of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals with the conceptual understanding to turn our client's vision into a reality. With a diverse team of approximately thirty architect professionals, many of which that are LEED Accredited, we are experienced in the areas of education, healthcare, commercial, hospitality and mixed-use projects. Our main priority is to deliver a design that exemplifies our client's vision and developed in a manner that is sensitive to budget and timeline.

LAN's Environmental Services Department provides a wide range of professional services to industrial clients, legal firms, lending institutions, municipalities, state agencies, non-profits, homeowners, and various other public and private clients. Our first priority is to facilitate the needs of our clients in a proactive and cost efficient manner while meeting environmental and safety regulatory requirements. LAN's unique interdisciplinary team of environmental engineers, Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP), environmental scientists, certified industrial hygienist and chemists, along with our other in house engineering, planning, architecture, and surveying capabilities allow for a wide-range of experience and capabilities.

LAN's Civil Engineering Department provides site design and construction administration services to homeowners, commercial property managers, municipal, county and state agencies in New York and New Jersey. Project scale and scope varies from a residential addition to septic repair to a multi-acre phased development. Particular services include parks and recreation facility design including athletic fields, playgrounds, swimming pools and trails; site development including feasibility and zoning analysis, site engineering, water distribution; geotechnical engineering including subsurface investigations, foundation systems, retaining walls and more.

Long before the concepts of "sustainability" and "green design" moved to the forefront of global awareness, LAN has approached projects with energy efficiency and environmental sensitivity in mind. By specifying thermally efficient building envelopes (walls and roof), occupancy sensors for lighting, energy efficient heating and cooling systems, and low-flow plumbing fixtures, LAN has historically helped several clients incorporate environmentally friendly features into their facilities. LAN is dedicated to sustainable building design and construction and has implemented the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program on many projects.

LAN's in-house licensed surveyors and field crews perform surveying services throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Our surveying staff is OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certified as well as trained and qualified in On-Track Safety for Contractors by Amtrak. With state-of-the art total stations and global positioning satellite (GPS) equipment, our team is capable of completing various stakeouts, elevation certificates and surveys of varying sizes on a monthly basis. Past projects range from small-lot surveys to multiple-tract developments, commercial and industrial complexes.

Our Electrical Engineering Department is responsible for preparing comprehensive design solutions that deliver engineering solutions in a timely and cost-efficient manner. This aspect of LAN's performance coupled with our firm's years of experience in all facets of design and assessment of electrical systems permits LAN to analyze, plan and design power distribution systems for most facilities. LAN's "in-house" technical resources comprised of CAD stations, software, and technology, coupled with our comprehensive knowledge of national codes and standards facilitates the design process in an expeditious manner and contributes to the success of the project.
