I have working on 5 projects with Stephanie Patterson and J. Hettinger and she is fantastic. I don't think there is anything she can't do, find or fix. If you want the perfect remodel, new room or new house, you must meet with Stephanie. They also have great partners who have build my cabinets, resurfaced furniture floors and walls, put in new windows and tile, and even fixed my landscaping. Highest recommendation!

Beautiful showroom and fantastic designers. I recently visited the showroom in Danville and was extremely impressed with the design and creativity. On top of this, I have seen many beautiful displays of Stephanies work and I highly recommend both J Hettinger and her services!!!

Let me start by saying I had never used a designer before. I always have always loved interior decorating my own home and thought I do a pretty good job. I am a small business owner and when I had the chance to move my business and needed to work around some odd design issues in the new space I decided I needed some professional help. I used Michelle and I am so happy I did. She helped me with paint colors and furniture placement using my existing pieces and I also needed suggestions on how to absorb sound in our large area.
Michelle has been fantastic. She has made great suggestions and has made our office feel professional but warm.
After being so happy with her color suggestions I had her help us order window coverings that are professional and allow people to see in and out but block glare. The solution she came us with is great and we are now getting people stopping in to ask about them.
I highly recommend Michelle for anything from simple room rearranging and color help to whole house renovations and design. She is the BEST.

We have been working with designer, Dorene Gomez, for a few months now for our office remodel and love that she is on our team. We told her we were on a small business budget and after taking a look at our space, she produced a list of low-budget high-impact suggestions to create a flowing, professional environment that our clients would enjoy. She understood our style and was also able to incorporate pieces of artwork and furniture we already had into the design that we thought we'd need to replace.
Investing in Dorene's expertise has been both a money- and stress-saver... I will definitely have her work on future projects with us and would highly recommend her for both home and office design and remodels!

We hired Maria Billingsley of J Hettinger to help us with our renovation in Palo Alto. She worked with my architect and contractor from the beginning to the end of the project. Maria brought on board various design ideas for the great room including space allocation, kitchen and cabinet design, color schemes, back splash design all the way to recommending the right appliance that met my cooking and entertaining objectives. Later she introduced us to a few cabinet manufacturers and through her contacts we found the perfect cabinets for our kitchen and fireplace area. We also consulted with Maria on exterior and interior paint and overall space flow, furniture layouts and drapery. I am truly thankful to Maria for all her work transferring our ideas and concepts into a beautiful home that we love.

As an Architect, I was pleasantly surprised by Hettinger Interiors' work on the Blackhawk Tour D'Elegance home competition in the late '80s. Altho the home they decorated didn't win the overall People's Choice, their interiors did, IMHO. Each room was grand - but not over the top - a rarity. Especially I remember the children's bedrooms were playfully creative.
Hettinger has matured into one of the Bay Area's best -see for yourself, just look at the pictures.
I know one of the designers well, and am puzzled by Queen B's dissatisfaction. I've heard of several examples where Jerry Hettinger and the designers do everything possible to solve a client's issue. I had to write this review so that the Yelp record would be balanced.
Highly recommended.
