As you begin your search, please allow us to offer some advice. There's more to choosing an architect than what you'll see in a rsum or proposal. Don't just look for a list of awards, make sure the architect is the best architect for you and your project. Does your architect operate with the same ideals that you do? Whether it's a remodel, addition, or an entire new building, the idea of beginning a new construction project can awaken the flutters of butterflies in your stomach. There's a lot to think about.

Is there an area of your home (or let's be honest, several areas) that could be improved? Kitchens and bathrooms are usually top of the list to be remodeled. But renovations such as adding a second floor, expanding your living areas, and adding on bedrooms and master suites can dramatically change the way you enjoy living in your home. We are architects and interior designers ready to guide you through your home remodel. Improve your indoor and outdoor spaces to increase your home's value and allow you to enjoy the way you live.

Designing a new kitchen is an exciting process. There are so many opportunities to customize the personality, style, functionality, and features of a new kitchen. We love guiding our clients in making decisions about their kitchen by breaking down the process into manageable and enjoyable steps. Ready to get started? Feel free to call us at 214.751.2304 to discuss designing your new kitchen. Outlined below is the process you can expect when you work with us to design your new kitchen. Let's take a look!

Current and future trends in home build and design - subjects that affect us all - make fascinating topics for community groups and schools. For example, what new home trends are of particular benefit to young families and what exactly can you do to recession-proof your house? Holly and Laura draw on years of experience in architecture and interior design to bring to life the key concepts involved and deliver a fascinating talk tailored to your audience. Prospective buyers often see the shortcomings of a home before they see the possibilities.

HPD co-founder, Laura Davis, is featured in a May 24Dallas Morning News articleabout the latest trends in outdoor furniture and dcor. For many Texas homeowners, exterior living areas have become extensions of indoor ones. Outdoor spaces like patios are being used year-round rather than just during spring and summer. As Davis says in the article, "It's about a place to come home to at the end of the day where people can dine with family and friends." Davis, who specializes in interior design, observes that homeowners are choosing angular, clean-lined quasi-Scandinavian look in warmer - rather than cooler - shades of gray and beige.

The Architecture Happy Hour was founded in 2010 and is organized by Dallas Architects and Interior Designers, Laura Davis and Holly Hall of hpd architecture + interiors. The monthly networking event has a robust membership of professionals such as architects, interior designers, lighting and landscape designers, realtors, engineers, contractors, property investors, furniture manufacturer reps, interior and exterior finishes vendors, and other design and construction professionals. This group is focused on building relationships among design and construction professionals, generating quality referrals, and doing business with people we know and trust.
