I just had Pete at my house for a sewer back up issue. He was polite and professional. Explained everything he was doing. Did good work and I thought it was very reasonably priced. I will be using them again.
We had our gas meter replaced by utility which was supposed to be a simple 10 minute task and cost me nothing. Tech said possible loose pipe in the inside wall when he got done so gas was shut off, no hot water, etc. We were in a bind and didn't have time to shop plumbers or rates. Wife had heard their ad on the radio so called them while I came home from work. There was a 12" X 30" cut through my closet drywall ceiling to expose the black pipe for $195.00. Tech had soap tested elbow joint and found a leak which needed fixing. Then I'm told it's a flat rate $697 to repair a gas leak which shocked me. I asked about how long it would take and the hourly rate so I could get a sense of reasonable rates. I'm told they work off of book rates. It is the same $697 if it's 15 min., 4 hrs, 6hrs, etc. I wasn't happy with that response but you're in a bind at that point. Tech cut out a 24" section of black pipe, put in a union to connect to old pipe and verified no gas leaking. He was polite, did a good job and made a sound repair. Total bill of $937 after trip charge and deduct of a $25 coupon equates to $200+ per hour. 6/2/17 Add'l comment - we were contacted by owner who said their goal is to make sure each customer is satisfied and calls them the next time they need a plumber. He offered to refund the access charge to expose the black pipe which was a generous offer which we accepted. We were very happy they were concerned enough to follow up and work with us.
