Burke Street Trimmings assumed its name in 2004 when Sandra Wachtel decided to open a storefront in downtown Martinsburg; obviously on Burke Street! For the previous 25 years, Sandra had worked with local clients and businesses under the name of Window Creations. 2004 felt like the perfect time for a change. Burke Street added to its reputation as a superior design shop and residential and commercial window treatment company by adding high end lamps, accessories and antiques. In 2007, she purchased an old farmhouse and transformed an existing shed into her studio.
Located in Martinsburg, WV close to Maryland, Virginia, and DC, Burke Street Trimmings offers both commercial and residential interior design services along with custom window treatments, upholstery and fabric by the yard. Custom Window Treatments include draperies, valances, shades, blinds, hardware, rods, and shutters. Sandra is also able to share her expertise with space planning consultations, installation management services, paint color selection and painting services, and home staging. Two years ago I became separated and purchased my own house.
