Stubbs Engineering, Inc. is a full service structural engineering firm specializing in providing creative, economical structural designs that provides our clients with the aesthetics they desire at the most cost efficient means possible. Our vast experience in both design and construction methods gives our firm the unique ability to provide our clients with a level of service beyond that of our competition. We work diligently to ensure our clients receive the best structural designs, communication, cost awareness, and project management possible.

Stubbs Engineering, Inc. was founded by Michael A. Stubbs, PE SE DBIA, in July 2010. The company started off as a one man engineer and later grew to have three offices in different states. Currently the offices are housed in Las Cruces, NM; El Paso, TX; and FT Worth, TX; this helps us to be more accessible to clientele, while also being more efficient and productive through project sharing. We have provided structural engineering on a wide variety of projects including a $36 million high school addition, a three story medical office building, a new college dorm and construction engineering on a forty-one story commercial/ residential complex.

Stubbs Engineering provides structural renovations for buildings of historical importance around the country. Our historic renovations focus on remodeling historical buildings in order to upgrade them and make them up to code but also to preserve the historical aspects of the building. We work alongside The Historic Preservation Office to insure that these delicate projects are handled correctly.

This project houses the reporting, editing, circulation and advertising departments for the Sun-News Newspaper Office. This is a 7518 sq.ft., 2 story, wood-framed building. The second floor of the Sun-News Building features a cantilevered balcony that overlooks the lobby. Also featured is a rooftop patio and garden. The design tied the original steel framed sign into the new wood framed building. This project consisted of the design of three separate shopping centers totaling 39,200 sq. Stubbs Engineering provided the structural engineering for the construction of The Lofts at Alameda which is a 38-unit, modern apartment complex.

Stubbs Engineering has provided Construction Engineering services on a variety of small and large projects. We have experience with the challenges that face contractors, concrete companies, and steel erectors during the construction process. Stubbs Engineering is able to provide expert engineering. We have provided engineering for erecting large steel trusses, temporary bracing, concrete formwork, safety cables, shoring and rigging. We work closely with our clients to develop construction sequence to maximize savings with respect to both time and money.

We understand the aesthetic and functional challenges when trying to integrate the structure into the architectural vision. We work with our clients to make sure the structural design is advantageous to the project. We have designed many projects using exposed structural steel, concrete and wood. We understand the special detailing requirements for exposed structures to achieve the desired appearance. Our engineers have experience with a wide range of structures.

This project was a prime contract including structural, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design. Scope of service included; modifications to the existing building, remodel of existing truck bays, 75 x 80-foot bay expansion, improvements to water booster and on site tank, a covered refueling area, provide a new canopy for employee breaks, concrete slabs to accommodate parking trailers, and rework of entry gates and controls. This project consisted of the design for a new section of pipe stands supporting 8 inches in diameter steam pipes.
