The Charles Carter name has been in the construction industry in south Louisiana since 1928. The founder, Mr. Charles Carter, began as a masonry contractor and stone setter working on such projects as the United States Supreme Court Building in Washington, D.C., and our own Louisiana State Capitol here in Baton Rouge. In 1928, he began his own firm Charles Carter Contractor. As Baton Rouge grew from a small river town of 15,000 to a bustling city of 100,000 people, Charles Carter Contractor signs were quite prominent around town.
