Carved limestone adds texture and grace to our masonry projects. We are the only masonry contractor to manufacture carved limestone headers, sills, and number stones. This capability allows Garneau Construction to deliver custom stone details to meet any schedule and budget. Garneau Construction's custom limestone designs add distinction to projects. Smooth carved limestone next to fieldstone gives a masonry project depth. The color contrast between limestone and brick accentuates the window and door openings.
When a foundation wall, like the one pictured below, has cracked and bowed the best repair option is to replace the damaged section. The wall is excavated from the outside, install temporary supports and removed the damaged wall. A new wall is then laid and the area back filled. Below is a brick foundation repair we recently did. An 11 foot section of the wall was starting to bow inwards and needed to be replaced before the problem progressed to the rest of the wall. We were able to replace this section with a block foundation and brick veneer.
Terracotta was a very popular material used often in accenting buildings. This material has however become expensive and it has become costly to replace when damaged. A more cost effective method of repairing buildings is to replace damaged pieces with limestone stained to match. Every masonry structure needs a solid foundation or the structure itself will crack and begin to fall apart. As you can see the limestone base for this monument was badly deteriorated. This caused a multitude of cracked mortar joints and cracked bricks.
