If you had to guess which plumbing fixture used the most water in your home, what would you say? Would you be surprised if it was the toilet? Toilets account for around 30 percent of the average home's water usage, according to the EPA. The good news is that newer models use far less water than older ones. Toilets installed before the mid-1990s often use six or seven gallons per flush, considerably more water than the 1.6 gallons required by federal law. Many of today's low-flow toilets use 1.28 gallons per flush or even less.

Hot water is something you probably take for granted. You turn on the shower and expect the water to heat up. You run the dishwasher, expecting hot water to be available to clean the food scraps from your dishes. Only when that hot water doesn't show up, do you notice the large appliance in your home devoted to heating your water? That's why we're here. With expert water heater repair, preventative maintenance and new installation when you need it, our expert plumbers can make sure you never have to worry about your water heater again.
It's the middle of the night when you hear it: the unmistakable drip, drip, drip of a leak. In some cases, pipe leaks make themselves known visually. A yellow or brown spot appears on the floor, ceiling or wall. Mold and mildew forms, even if you run a dehumidifier regularly. The wallpaper starts to bubble or peel away from the wall. Some leaks are sneakier. The only way you can tell if you have certain types of leaks is a water bill that increases month after month. It's not only the pipes that run to your sinks, shower and tubs, and toilets that can leak.
Hot water is one of the great joys of modern plumbing. If you want to take a bath or shower, wash the dishes or run a load of laundry, you don't have to spend hours boiling gallons of hot water first. The storage water heater or tankless hot water heater in your home does the hard work for you. But most hot water heaters aren't designed to last forever. Traditional storage water heaters typically last between 10 and 15 years, according to the Department of Energy. A more efficient tankless hot water heater can last for up to 20 years.
Did you know the only time many people think about their water heater is when their shower runs cold or the water heater begins leaking? While no one can determine exactly how long a water heater should last, a properly maintained water heater can last 10 + years. Flushing your water heater annually will prolong its life. Why you should flush your water heater- Sediment is the reason you should flush your tank. Sediment is small bits of dirt, rock, and other debris that can build up over time in your water heater.

An air conditioning and heating system that's too small won't keep your home comfortable and one that is oversized will not maintain acceptable humidity levels and will be very inefficient. A professional comfort design specialist will discuss any discrepancies or inefficiencies in your current HVAC setup and evaluate the optimal size of HVAC equipment for your home. Once the inspection is complete, you will be presented with the recommended solutions, available financing, and warranty information.

Every month, it seems as if your water bill is steadily increasing. Yet, your family doesn't seem to be using more water from one month to the next. An unexplained jump in your water bill is often a sign that there's a leak somewhere in your pipes. In some instances, the leak can be in the water line that delivers water to your home. A number of factors can cause damage to the main water line over time. Tree roots can grow into the pipe, minerals can build up on the inside of the line and changes in soil temperature can put pressure on the pipe and weaken it.
The sewer pipe isn't something most people think about on a daily basis, even though it plays a big role in transporting waste out of the home. Flushing certain items, such as paper towels, feminine hygiene products and some types of tissue, can lead to a clog in the sewer line, either in one of the branch pipes or the main sewer pipe. Being careful about what you flush can help reduce the chance of a clog, but there are also cases when the source of the clog is beyond your control. Tree roots, for example, are also a major source of sewer pipe blockage.
Your furnace or heating system is a vital part of your home. It's important to ensure it is running correctly and efficiently during the cold winter months. We have been installing, servicing and repairing heating systems in Atlanta area homes for more than 20 years. At Ragsdale, we are here for you anytime you have issues with your home's furnace or heating system. We are committed to providing the Atlanta metro area with the best heating repair, service and installation possible. Our HVAC technicians are skilled professionals that will treat you and your home with respect.
Most homeowners research air conditioner or heater makes, models and brands before making a purchase. However, the quality of the installation is the single greatest contributing factor to a properly functioning, efficient air conditioner and furnace. So before you hire a new HVAC company, make sure it's one that knows what they're doing. An air conditioning and heating system that's too small won't keep your home comfortable and one that is oversized will not maintain acceptable humidity levels and will be very inefficient.

Did you know that 1/100th of an inch of dust build up on your coil and blower motor can equal up to 10% loss of efficiency? Just like your automobile needs service and maintenance, your heating and air conditioning system requires a scheduled service / maintenance plan to stay in top shape. Having a maintenance program protects you from the expensive cost return which will equal a longer life for your system. By having Ragsdale Heating, Air & Plumbing check your system every 6 months you are protecting your system from efficiency loss which can lead to increased energy costs and decreased comfort in your home.
We had William Pitts from Ragsdale come out and install an interior gas line to convert an electric stove to gas and he did an awesome job! Explained everything and went above and beyond to point out some great pointers to help us out. Great service!! Highly recommend William did great with his years of experience.
Great service everyone was professional, had service guy, Gus, and his assistant or maybe he was an intern they were very professional they came out, gave me the quote - service me & made sure I was happy & was out the door within 15 minutes. I never really had any bad experience this company been doing business with them for 20+years.
I must say that Ragsdale's team is always so very professional. I used to have to call around town to hope that I can find someone decent who may be able to squeeze me into their schedule. Not Ragsdale. They are efficient, professional, and highly capable of accommodating your schedule. I have yet to have a bad experience with them. Best of all, they always stick with their warranty requirements and agreement.
We recently had an issue with our air conditioner and I will say that no fault of theirs I had tried two other sources to remedy our problem. Ragsdale had something both the others lacked, communication and customer service, 2 things that go hand in hand with someone in todays markets. Thank you Ragdale
I have used Ragsdale for over 3 1/2 years. Always professional and trustworthy to stand by their job. All of the technicians have been knowledgeable of their particular area of service. I have used them for heating, air and plumbing! The office staff goes beyond the call of duty to help you. I told one of the technicians I could do a commercial for them…😆
The best part is, they stand behind their work and have been in business for many years. 5 stars for sure
