Melvin Wengerd, the founder of Hickory Circle, has been building timber frames since the 90's. In 2001, he established the company, and ever since, they have been building custom timber frame homes, cabins, barns, pavilions and more. Above all we pride ourselves on constructing environmentally friendly, energy efficient, beautiful structures to suit any need. In addition to the traditional building style, are committed to using only the finest timber from local mills, and invite you to come experience the old-world, quality craftsmanship of Hickory Circle Construction.
Our general contracting services can manage your project from start to finish, no matter the size. We specialize in hybrid builds — part timber frame, and part conventional frame. There's no need to use more than one contractor if you prefer a hybrid look — we do it all! If all you need is a timber roof system, we're glad to build whatever you need. We will work with you to find a design that suits your budget. Additionally, We use styrofoam and spray foam insulation systems, so your build will be as energy-efficient as possible.
Timber framing and trusses are a traditional style of construction where a structure is framed with crafted heavy timber as opposed to mass-produced, thinner, dimensional lumber. The look of a timber frame is easy to identify — it offers and exposed wood appearance, often with minimal finishing. Hickory Circle offers both hands sawed or planed finishes to the client's preference. Multiple stain colors can also be applied to your custom exposed timber frame. Utilizing fine timber from local mills, Hickory Circle Construction primarily works with Oak, Douglas Fir, Hickory, Cedar, and Pine species.
