Coates Construction, known more formally as Mike Coates Construction Company, Inc., is one of the largest privately held general contractors in the Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania regions we serve. Renowned for our unflinching commitment to "do it right, " we have the capacity and experience to safely carry out large projects, and the commitment to detail to get smaller jobs done with equal uncommon workmanship. Offering design-build, construction management and general contracting services, our veteran team of estimators, project managers and superintendents bring combined centuries of experience to bear on every job.
Coates Construction's long history of successful performance in raising buildings that stand the test of time stems from one of our core principles: Do it right. For more than six decades now, our unfaltering focus on that objective has made us the preeminent privately held building contractor in the Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania regions. We have not only built some of the region's most iconic structures, we have built enduring relationships of trust with owners, including government agencies from the municipal to the federal level, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and unions.
At Coates Construction, we believe that every job deserves the confident direction of an experienced team led by individuals with decades-not just years-of experience, proven professionals with a history of safely constructing buildings to the high standard of quality that is widely recognized as the Coates Construction trademark. Coates has experience with all types of project delivery, including general contracting, construction management at risk, and design-build. In addition to offering these construction services, Coates is also a representative for Butler Manufacturing in select counties in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
With sixty-plus years of experience in all types of project delivery, Coates Construction has become the preeminent privately owned general contractor in the Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania region. Coates has experience with all types of project delivery, including general contracting, construction management at risk (CMR), and design-build (DB). The traditional model for letting out a construction project is the three-stage design/bid/build process that most in our industry recognize. Applying this model, the owner contracts with a designer, the designer prepares a complete set of drawings and specifications for the project, and multiple bidders are then asked to prepare and submit a bid from those drawings and specifications.
