After ALL of our foundation lifts, we insist on grout pumping under pressure. This ensures that all voids are filled and prevents the intrusion of water by replacement of fill dirt that subsided. After the foundation is lifted, we complete the job by pressure grout pumping the area under the slab. Grout pumping reestablishes the fill that has subsided and prevents water from collecting under the foundation. This also prevents point loading of the slab, which helps prevent the potential for future foundation problems.
Our site and building evaluations are professionally detailed to include scale drawings, floor elevations and drainage and site considerations. Elevations are taken throughout the building using a digital electronic level accurate to 1/8th of an inch. This ability makes the elevations extremely accurate and without fear of errors due to multi-setup. The information is then taken to our office where the elevations are plotted and a correction plan developed. If repair is needed, we select the best method to fix the problem, as well as to determine the root of the problem so it can be resolved.
The number one cause for foundation problems in the Jackson Area is from improper drainage around the foundation. Also, because of the make-up of the Yazoo Clay in our area, it has as much potential to allow the building to heave (or rise up) as it could settle. Therefore proper drainage is important around a building. Most drainage problems result from improper grading. Grading is the slope of the yard. In general terms, a properly graded yard should slope gently downward from the house and toward the street and alley, so that all rain falling on the house and yard follows the slope away from the residence.
