The Northrop Grumman Campus of Excellence project in Melbourne, FL, is a several hundred-million-dollar project that includes fully renovating and significantly increasing existing buildings to a 173-acre campus consisting of 12 total buildings and four new ones. The four new buildings total 397,476 square feet and the project is creating almost 2,000 new jobs at the Orlando-Melbourne International Airport. Some of the retail stores we provided engineering design to include Ross Dress for Less, Starbucks, Petsmart, Marshalls/Homegoods, Deals, Charming Charlie, Boot Barn, AT&T, Hook Building and Party City. CEG, in conjunction with GEXPRO Energy Solutions and Viron Consulting Group, provided engineering design services for 76 photovoltaic (PV) systems on 11 buildings at nine Access Storage locations across New Jersey. The systems totaled 1.47 MW in size using 6,654 SolarWorld 245W monocrystalline silicon modules. SMA Sunny Boy and SMA Sunny Central grid-tied inverters were used to convert the DC power to AC power to deliver solar energy to the grid. Racking systems used for the project included Unirac RapidRac for the flat-roofed projects and Unirac Solarmount for the pitched metal building roofs.
