SEMA Construction, Inc. is a full-service construction firm. And at SEMA, we believe a company isn't defined as much by what they say about conducting their business as it is by what they do in conducting their business. And how do we conduct ours? That's who we are - a general contractor that thrives on doing it right. We are thrilled that SEMA has been named a Top Workplace by The Denver Post for the second year in a row. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey measuring several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
With over 25 years of leadership in heavy civil and industrial construction, we are a full-service contractor regarded for completing high-quality construction projects safely, ahead of schedule, and within budget parameters. This is due entirely to our employees who live for achieving quality workmanship within owner specifications. Clients trust SEMA because we provide sole-source responsibility, delivering value to you. Self-performing 70% of major construction work scopes; we are fast, flexible, and efficient.
Bridges, box culverts, retaining walls - a few of the structures SEMA builds. Our crews know how to construct them safely and quickly. In fact, we are known for having built some of the more interesting bridges in the industry. On the I-270 flyover project in Denver, for example, we designed an alternate solution to the use of traditional steel girders: curved, precast-concrete U-girders. Each weighing 240,000 - 330,000 lbs., these girders are the largest and heaviest of their kind. Structure meets substance.
SEMA has a history with dirt. Our seasoned earthwork crews have the capacity to move millions of cubic yards in a single year. And earthwork projects can be varied, often including multiple aspects of grading, structural excavation/backfill, dewatering, surface water diversion, erosion control, and ground improvements. Moving dirt - we've done it since the beginning.
SEMA's experience constructing new facilities that improve and protect the environment has left communities with something to marvel at. We've provided remediation, reclamation, and containment construction solutions to industrial, mining, commercial, and government clients. These projects have included the construction of cap and cover containment systems, liner containment systems, collection and treatment systems, waste consolidation and relocation, heavy-metal and asbestos abatement work, and site reclamation of impacted sites.
At SEMA, when collaborating with clients our hallmark is a thoughtful blend of strategy and action. So regardless of the construction service required, when we're on the job, there is constant progress.
