At Hill Construction Services of Charleston, Inc., our name is our approach. We serve our clients from the first handshake to the hand-over of keys to the years down the road. We're in the business of building with a purpose, and that purpose is to serve our clients, our environment, and our industry. Based in Charleston, South Carolina, Hill has built our name on the commitment and excellence of its sixty years in the commercial construction business.
Over the past five decades, Hill has established our name as a Charleston contractor Lowcountry clients turn to for exceptional commercial construction work and exceptional hands-on service. Our history began in 1956 with founder Edwin B. Hill Jr's partnership in one of the largest construction companies in the state. In 1977, Mr. Hill and his son, E. Burrow Hill III, established Hill Construction Corporation. Since we have continued to expand our services, portfolio, and commitment to our clients.
Preconstruction services have been a vital part of Hill's success. Hill was one of the first companies in Charleston to establish a dedicated Preconstruction Department and that commitment to client's services has paved the way for success in our Design-Build and negotiated projects. In addition, that same department manages all of the lump sum bid work that we pursue. That blend of creative thinking, finding solutions for our clients, as well as keeping our pencil sharp, is a proven recipe for success for our clients.
