The Lee family has been in power line construction for over fifty years. The sons of Robert Lee, Jerry and Donnie, dreamed of owning their own power line construction company since graduating from high school. Jerry's and Donnie's determination provided an opportunity for work with a South Carolina Cooperative, allowing them the opportunity to start the Company in 1988, operating from Jerry's home. In 1989, after damage from Hurricane Hugo, the cooperative requested that the Company add more crews for system restoration.
Storm restoration is a critical part of our service to our customers. Our crews work around the clock to promptly get the power restored due to loss during snow storms, ice storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, or any other natural or man-made disaster that occurs. Our emergency response area covers the entire eastern coast and as far west as Texas. We are able to use our resources to rebuild electrical systems that have been completely torn apart. Our crews are ready, willing, and able to proceed to any destination when major storms approach.
On October 24, 2018, while restoring power after hurricane Michael in Chipley, FL, George Cesil, Bo Ussery, and Ryan Barrett were struck by a truck while working roadside.
